The idea.
I was sitting in my apartment listening to music one day (back in 2005) & I was reminiscing about Razordull.org, my previous domain that I gave up in 2004. I kept thinking about how I missed creating layouts & finding sites that I could link to and make friends in the online blogging/domain community. I think it was Christine at Never-ever.org who ultimately convinced me to get back into my old habit. While she didn’t even say anything to me about the whole thing, it was the decision she made to merge her livejournal with her old domain. I think what I had planned was to do the same. In the end though, I decided to go against it & intitially decided to just keep my livejournal friends only while having wim.net as my public journal.
The domain.
This domain is the replacement of a previous domain, Woah-is-me.net. W-i-m.net was created on the 20th of June 2007. Domain name registration was provided by NameCheap.com & hosting is povided by freehostia.com, a free hosting site. Letter-bomb.com was also registered through NameCheap.com & hosting is still provided by freeshostia, since their hosting doesn’t really expire unless you quit using it (free reregistering!)
The name.
Comes from the Converge song Lovebomb. Converge is a band based out of Massachusettes that has played a blend of hardcore/punk/metal since 1990. Lovebomb is the tenth track on the album When Forever Comes Crashing, released in 1998.
The Resources.
I’ve made a few themes for woah-is-me.net; these are my resources and whatnot. First layout I created features artwork from Every Time I Die’s album Gutter Phenomenon. Images used are wallpapers available at their website. I altered them on my own. Please do not take them, they took me a long time to customize & code. The lyrics are from the song Kill The Music. Second layout I created features brushes, smiles & wallpaper from moargh.de, and lyrics from Roses Are Red’s album Conversations. The lyric snippit comes from the song Ocean, quoting “I wonder what it’s like to be the biggest star up in your sky.” The third layout I’ve created features Rivers Cuomo. Find out more about Weezer or Rivers. Brushes were downloaded from Exotica. Lyrics to the song Blast off! were google-searched. Image of Rivers Cuomo came from Across the Weez. Smilies from Kao-Ani.com
